How does AutoCheck work?
We run 26 different checks, all based on information from 20+ sources, including the police, finance companies and insurers. We can tell you the vehicle's current status, and about its history. Please check what AutoCheck does not cover section in order to find about what we are unable to tell about your vehicle.
Remember, 1 in 4 cars we check still has outstanding finance and 1 in 8 is recorded on our database as a write off.
Current vehicle status
AutoCheck runs key checks for:
- Outstanding finance
If a previous owner still owes money, the finance company will try to track it down and seize it.
- Insurance write offs
Some write-offs can be made safe - but you need a professional check.
- Stolen information
We check the Police National Computer
- Mileage anomalies
Has the car been clocked to make it seem younger than it is?

Thank goodness for AutoCheck! It saved me a 130 mile-round trip and stopped me buying a clocked, written off car. What a fantastic service
The primary reason I chose AutoCheck was to make sure the car did not still have finance outstanding. I can't thank AutoCheck enough as, by choosing their report over others, I escaped inheriting a significant amount of debt held against the vehicle. Because of this I'd always recommend AutoCheck over other vehicle check providers.
